About the Clinical and Dietetics Department

The Clinical and Dietetics Department plays a vital role in promoting health and well-being through the science of nutrition. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, evidence-based nutritional care that supports disease prevention, management, and recovery for patients of all ages and health conditions.

Our department focuses on complete nutritional management services which includes nutrition assessment and therapeutic diets for in-patient department. We oversee and monitor food service systems, making recommendations for a conformance level that will provide nutritionally adequate quality food. For out-patient department we also provide diet counseling and nutrition education for specific chronic conditions as advised by concerned clinicians.

Our team consists of highly qualified clinical dietitians who work in collaboration with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, patient-centered nutritional care. We are committed to improving health outcomes by tailoring dietary interventions to each individual’s medical needs, lifestyle, and preferences.

Our Services

1. Diet Counselling and Nutrition Education

It combines Nutrition expertise and psychological skills for out-patient department which includes interviewing, counseling and consulting of the patients. We also provide specialized diet plans according to individual’s disease or condition.

One-on-one nutrition consultations to help manage chronic illnesses or achieve specific health goals, such as:

  • Weight management
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Food allergies and intolerances

2. Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)

Personalized dietary management for conditions such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Kidney disorders
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Cancer
  • Fevers
  • Malnutrition and undernutrition

3. Inpatient Nutrition Care

Nutritional assessment, monitoring, and support for hospitalized patients, including:

  • Nutrition risk screening
  • Specialized feeding methods (e.g., enteral and parenteral nutrition)
  • Post-surgical nutrition recovery

4. Nutrition Education & Workshops

Group sessions, community outreach programs, and educational materials for patients, caregivers, and the public to promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes.

5. Diet Planning and Menu Management

Development of therapeutic diets and balanced meal plans for hospital food services, ensuring patients receive appropriate nutrition based on their medical conditions.
